Dream Big

We've all heard the talk, "The youth of today are lazy, immoral, spoiled..." You fill in the blank.  But, we spend 8 hours each day with the youth of America, and trust us, ALL HOPE IS NOT LOST! We recently did an activity on Martin Luther King Jr.  The students had to summarize what Rev. King's dream was and then had to write their own "dreams" for America or themselves.  We were amazed at the words and ideas they used.  We are very proud to share some of these with you.  Please spread the word that we have some pretty awesome kids here at APS and our future looks very bright!

Happy New Year, 2015

Wow!  Another year has come and gone.  We are looking forward to a new year and a great rest of the school year in 2015.  The pictures below share some of the things we have been working on.  We have been talking about what goals and resolutions are and what that means. We have also been writing our own new year goals.  I loved reading these activities that our students completed.

AR and Facts in a Flash

We are so blessed to have access to the web-based program, Renaissance Learning.  Renaissance Learning has some exciting features. One feature allows students and parents access from home.  Another useful feature is that parents can sign up to be informed, by email, of when their child takes an AR test and the score they earn.  The most useful benefit, in our opinion, is that your child can practice his/her math Facts in a Flash from home.  Each child has a unique username and password to gain access to the site.  This information was sent home earlier this year.  If you have misplaced this paper, send us a note or email and we'll be glad to send your child's information at home.  This is the link to the website: Renaissance Home Connect. Please take advantage of this opportunity!

Disney on Ice

We had an AWESOME time on our trip to Disney on Ice.  It was a wonderful show and experience.  I think the teachers loved it as much as the kids.

Farm Day

Farm day was Friday September 26, 2014.  The kids had so much fun.  They get to see and pet lots of animals.  They also got to feed and hold some different animals, too.  It's always a great day at Farm Day! :)
